Attorney – Trust and Estate Planning - Las Vegas, NV

The Lewis Group of Companies, one of the largest privately-held real estate development companies, currently has an opportunity for a self-motivated, energetic individual for the full-time opportunity of Attorney, Trusts & Estate Planning, located within the Las Vegas, NV regional office.

More about Lewis: The Lewis Group of Companies is among the nation’s largest real estate development and ownership companies. Its ownership consists of numerous trusts for family members, and it operates a Nevada-regulated private trust company that serves as a trustee for these numerous trusts.

As a new member of our team, you will assist in operating this private trust company and play a critical part in managing estate planning, trust administration, and wealth preservation strategies. You will work closely with our family office and executive leadership to ensure the long-term sustainability of multi-generational assets. This position will report to the private trust company's managing directors.

Among your duties will be:

Manage the day-to-day operations of a Nevada-regulated private trust company.
Advising on estate planning strategies, including wills, trusts, probate, and tax-efficient wealth transfer techniques.
Assist in drafting and reviewing trust documents, estate plans, and related legal agreements.
Assist with the management of trust-owned properties and work with trust beneficiaries.
Oversee trust administration, including compliance, fiduciary responsibilities, and distributions.
Collaborate with internal and external tax advisors to optimize estate and trust structures.
Provide counsel on asset protection, philanthropic giving, and succession planning.
Ensure compliance with federal and state estate, gift, inheritance tax laws, and private trust regulations.
Work closely with the family office to address estate and wealth planning needs.
Support corporate and real estate transactions with trust and estate implications.
Keep abreast of changes in laws and regulations pertaining to estate planning, tax, and corporate law, private trust regulations, and adapt strategies as necessary.
Preparing and maintaining documents, reports, meeting agendas, meeting minutes, and other related documentation responsibilities.
Other duties as needed.
Skills for your success:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school with a license to practice law (Nevada preferable but not necessary).
Minimum 5-10 years of experience in estate planning, trusts, and wealth management law.
Strong knowledge of tax law concerning estate and succession planning.
Experience working with high-net-worth individuals and family offices is highly preferred.
Soft skills should include critical thinking and interpersonal/communication skills to interact with multiple generations and partner with other company departments, such as accounting, tax, and finance.
This is a Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. position in the Las Vegas, NV regional office.
