Job Description
Performs hearing exams, takes ear impressions, makes recommendations and orders merchandise. Programs, fits, and adjusts hearing aids for members. Processes sales. Maintains customer computer files. Follows proper safety and security procedures and standards. Provides a high level of member service.
Job Duties/Essential Functions
Meets with members and conducts routine tests with audiometer. Examines ear, referring to a physician when appropriate
Makes recommendations for hearing aids
Makes ear moulds
Sends paperwork and ear moulds to manufacturer
Programs and fits hearing aids to members
Assists with any adjustments, questions or problems
Telephones members to follow up and provides a high level of member service
Answers questions and problems regarding merchandise or services
Processes sales
Maintains a computerised file for each member
Receives accurate payment for merchandise; makes change; processes credit and debit charges according to proper departmental procedures for paperwork and the performance of duties
Exercises discretion and confidentiality with all patient information
Follows proper Hearing Aid Centre and general safety and security procedures and standards
Assists in other departments of the warehouse as necessary
Provides prompt and courteous customer service to members, employees, and suppliers
Ability to operate vehicles, equipment or machinery
Phone, copier, cash register, private vehicle, hand-held scanner, computer, hearing aid vacuum and ultrasonic cleaner, audiometer, bench grinder + Dremel, hearing aid, Otoscope, rubbish compactor, cardboard baler
Qualifications (Costco-specific or industry specific skills that candidates should possess)
Education/Training:
Master’s Degree in Audiology or Audiometrist qualifications
Licenses/Certifications:
Qualified Practitioner Audiology Australia, Australian College of Audiology, or Hearing Aid Audiology Society of Australia
Experience/Skills:
Appropriate Audiology or comparable experience
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong interpersonal, organisation and problem solving skills
Other specific requirements
Previous audiology experience
Member of Australian College of Audiology, Audiology Australia and Hearing Aid Audiology Society of Australia
