You’ll be someone who is comfortable working pro-actively and, managing your own tasks, as well as confident collaborating with others and communicating regularly with Senior Managers, Directors, and BDO’s Partners. You’ll help deliver accurate and transparent reporting to all relevant stakeholders as you provide long term value.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive individual with a passion for audit quality to join the Audit Quality Department (AQD) to work specifically to support the Directors who manage risk for the department.
The role will involve working across AQD to manage, monitor and feedback on areas that relate to managing risk for the department. A large part of this role will be to manage the processes around the ISQM (UK) 1 risks and controls of which AQD own a significant number.
The key requirement for the role is an excellent ability to project manage a large process, communicate with individuals from a wide range of different sub teams, analyse data and produce management reporting.
Alongside ad hoc tasks and responsibilities, there are the following specific elements of the role which are explained further below:
Oversight and monitoring of the ISQM (UK) 1 process for AQD – this will include maintenance of AQD manuals and oversight of the process; and oversight of the helpline reporting function.
Requirements
Excellent project management and organising skills – able to prioritise multiple tasks effectively and cope well under the pressure of deadlines
External audit experience helpful but not essential
Excellent communication skills; both written and oral
Ability to build strong relationships with internal parties in the Audit Stream including senior individuals
Ability to work with highly confidential information
Accuracy and attention to detail essential
Take personal responsibility and accountability for own work
Have the ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a small team and be able to use own initiative
IT literate with an excellent knowledge of Excel and experience of manipulating large volumes of data
