The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) is a critical participant in the administration of justice within Western Australia, providing an independent and effective criminal prosecution service and confiscation practice.

The ODPP is seeking an experienced team member to provide high level support for operations within the Audio Visual (AV) Editing division. This role forms part of the AV Editing Team and is responsible for the preparation and duplication of electronic material received from WA Police, used to support Criminal Prosecutions on behalf of the State of Western Australia. Some of which includes editing of records of interview, CCTV and other various digital material as per the agreement between parties, instructions from State Prosecutors, Brief Out Counsel and Paralegals, or directions and orders made by the Court.

This role reports directly to the Level 5 Senior AV Editing Paralegal Team Leader within Legal Practice Support (Prosecutions) and works closely in a small team consisting of five AV editing team members. In addition to the small team, this role is required to liaise and support relevant stakeholders, including State Prosecutors, Paralegals, Brief Out Counsel, Court staff, Defence Counsel, and WA Police. A pivotal element of this role focuses on the fostering of good working relationships with both internal, and external stakeholders.

There is currently one (1) position available for immediate appointment. Suitable applicants could be considered for up to 12 months from which appointments may be made subject to business needs. Both permanent and fixed term opportunities at full time and part time may be available.

To be successful in this role, applicants will need to demonstrate

Ability to process requests for the editing of digital media for trial preparation using appropriate multimedia software tools.
Ability to effectively foster and maintain, good working relationships with key stakeholders, both within and externally to the ODPP (including WA Police and Court Staff).
Ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to changing priorities or project requirements.
Support to State Prosecutors and Paralegals in the use of media playback technology and format requirements across ODPP desktop systems and court environments.
Ability to contribute to the continuous improvement of electronic media support and services for editing and media playback.
Work practices that show a strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and thoroughness in the completion of tasks or projects.
An understanding of the impact that exposure to sensitive and potentially emotionally distressing material (for example, graphic or disturbing photographic evidence) may have on you.
