The Aviation, Land and Maritime Transport (ALMT) Program is responsible for delivering the Aviation Meteorological Services (AMS) portfolio, which provides the aviation industry with specialised meteorological services contributing to efficient and effective aviation operations within the Australian Flight Information Regions and the Asia-Pacific Region.

Aviation Operations provides meteorological services to the aviation industry across Australia. Consisting of four operational forecasting teams, these provide both regulated and non-regulated meteorological products and advisory services. Additionally, the Service Delivery Optimisation team sit alongside the operational teams providing a range of functions focussed on continuous improvement.

The Aviation Operations Support Officer provides high-level administrative and secretariat support to the Aviation Operations Leadership Team, playing a key role in coordinating governance, reporting, and change management activities. This position is responsible for managing meeting logistics including agendas, minutes, and action tracking, while supporting internal communications and ensuring alignment with organisational priorities.

The role contributes to the implementation of strategic programs and business initiatives by preparing reports, coordinating meetings, and maintaining oversight of governance processes. Operating with limited supervision, the officer will manage competing priorities, exercise sound judgement, and engage effectively with stakeholders across various business areas.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, along with a proactive approach to continuous improvement, are essential to success in this role.
