Key Responsibilities:
Lead the bank and treasury (B&T) accounting team handling various global entities.
• Supervise 16 team members (Associates and Accountants) performing B&T accounting for numerous entities around the world.
• Work closely with treasury leaders to ensure accounting entries are accurately and completely interfaced from treasury application to SAP.
• Ensure the following B&T team activities are conducted timely, accurately, & to Dow’s standard:
• Preparation of bank reconciliations
• Day to day and month end accounting
• Monitoring and pursuit of open item resolution
• Blackline account reconciliations
• Maintaining proper documentation
• Provide leadership in the development, testing, and implementation of process automation including macros and Robotics Process Automation (RPA).
• Drive process improvements to achieve productivity gains.
• Evaluate the team’s scope consistent with the centralization strategy. Implement scope changes.
• Ensure all internal controls are effective and performed as per the process. Support external and internal audits.
• Support and implement the rationalization of legal entities related to B&T accounting.
• Monitor, analyze, and internalize monthly metric results .Develop new metrics as needed.
• Provide people leadership for B&T team including organizational design and planning, staffing, employee development, and performance management
Education:
• Bachelor of Commerce
• Chartered Accountant or US CPA (preferred)
Experience:
• Financial Accounting w/ USGAAP or IFRS (10-12 years)
• Corporate / public accounting (6-8 years)
• Western multinational (4-6 years)
• Public Accounting (4-6 years)
• People leadership (4+ years)
Competencies:
• Highly proficient financial accountant following US GAAP and / or IFRS.
• Results driven. Highly motivated with strong aspirations to achieve and develop.
• Process-oriented mindset.
• Interest in broad array of finance disciplines.
• Detailed and analytical thinker.
• Proficient in SAP finance - financial accounting module
• Proficient in Microsoft office (Excel)
• Good communication skills.
• Highly collaborative .Able to work across levels & roles.
• Fluent in English (written and verbal).
• Additional language may be a plus.
• People leadership skills.
• Project management skills.
