Job Description:

Aster RV Hospital is seeking a skilled and dedicated Blood Bank Technician to join our team in Bangalore. As a Blood Bank Technician, you will be responsible for a range of duties related to the collection, processing, and distribution of blood and blood products. This includes collecting blood from donors, performing quality control tests, preparing blood components for transfusion, and maintaining accurate records. Ensuring safety protocols are followed and equipment is well-maintained is crucial in this role.

Responsibilities:
• Collect blood from donors following established protocols, ensuring donor safety.
• Process blood donations to separate and prepare blood components for transfusion.
• Perform quality control tests to ensure the safety and efficacy of blood and blood products.
• Maintain accurate records of all blood collection, processing, and distribution activities.
• Ensure all safety protocols and guidelines are strictly followed.
• Maintain and calibrate equipment used in blood collection and processing.
• Manage inventory of blood and blood products to ensure availability for patient needs.
• Communicate effectively with blood donors to provide information and ensure a positive donation experience.
• Respond promptly and efficiently to any emergencies or adverse reactions during blood donation.
• Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure the highest standards of patient care.

Requirements:
• Diploma or degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or a related field.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a blood bank or clinical laboratory setting.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and laboratory procedures.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
