Description
Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
•Record sales and purchase transactions in accounting software such as Quickbooks Online or Excel
•Reconciliation of bank accounts
•Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
•Check and verify source documents such as invoices, and receipts.
•Prepare business documents such as letters, memos, and reports.
•Calculation and generation of bi-weekly payroll, submission of payroll deduction remittances, GST remittances, PST remittances
•Input all the daily, weekly, and monthly sales in the accounting software
•Other related duties as assigned
•Provide an advanced level of administrative support.
•Prepare monthly reports including forecasting, budgeting, supporting documentation and working papers for officers of the Local Union.
•Perform internal accounting functions.
•Assist with preparation of monthly management reports, including preparation of supporting documentation and working papers.
•Participate in both professional and technical educational training sessions where deemed necessary by management to enhance skills and productivity.
•Answer member inquiries by phone, in writing, electronic communications (email or chat), or in person.
•Cross-train on various positions.
•Physical and electronic filing and document tracking.
Experience:
•Post-secondary accounting diploma/certificate or working towards a professional accounting designation an asset.
•Minimum 3 years of bookkeeping/accounting experience.
•Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word) or equivalent, and Adobe or equivalent
