Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Bookkeeper / Accountant to join our team on a part-time basis. Based at our Tamworth office, this role is ideal for a finance professional who thrives in a hands-on environment and is comfortable working within a fast-paced SME setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Preparation of Monthly Management Accounts
Perform Nominal Account Analysis
Handle accruals and prepayments
Generate monthly profit reports to reconcile Freight and Accounts systems
Develop and maintain budgets and forecasts
Conduct variance analysis
Complete balance sheet reconciliations
Lead month-end cash book processes
Close off Sales and Purchase Ledgers monthly
Authorise bank payments
Oversee Sales and Purchase Ledgers
Support audits and liaise with auditors on an ad hoc basis
Reconcile and submit monthly VAT returns
Assist with general finance tasks to support the efficient running of the Accounts Department
Qualifications & Experience:
Part-qualified or fully qualified accountant (e.g., AAT, QBE, or equivalent)
Strong understanding of accounting principles and fundamentals
Proven bookkeeping and accounting experience, ideally in SME environments
Proficiency in accounting software packages
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Ability to meet deadlines and work independently
Excellent problem-solving skills and a logical, mature approach
