Job Description
As a Business Analyst specializing in Operations Optimization, you will be instrumental in driving merchandising reset projects within our Merch Services team. This pivotal role involves creating purchase orders, managing goods receipts, resolving vendor invoice discrepancies, and performing financial reporting and analysis. You'll also have the opportunity to work on special projects aimed at process improvements and automation, while ensuring financial close activities are efficient monthly, quarterly, and annually. Acting as a key liaison between cross-functional teams in Merch Services and other partners, your expertise in business operations will be vital for enhancing processes and policies.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage all phases of project life cycles, including feasibility, design, implementation, and evaluation to effectively meet business needs.
• Facilitate communication between merchandising and finance teams, enhancing collaboration through regular meetings and updates.
• Mentor and guide fellow analysts, nurturing their business acumen and analytical capabilities.
• Act as a subject matter expert by conducting thorough research and in-depth analysis for assigned projects.
• Manage multiple projects concurrently (2 to 4), recommending impactful process improvements and delivering meaningful outcomes.
• Establish and report key metrics for projects to effectively communicate business value and progress.
Management Structure:
• You will report to a director-level leader within the merchandising team.
• This position does not have direct reports but guiding and mentoring junior team members will be crucial.
Travel Expectations:
• Occasional overnight travel is expected, ranging from 5% to 20% of the time.
Work Environment:
• The position is based in a comfortable indoor setting, with minimal exposure to unpleasant conditions.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Must be at least eighteen years of age.
• Must have the legal right to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications:
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Analytics, Industrial Engineering, or related field is preferred.
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel and Tableau.
• Experience in financial analysis/budgeting, with a strong understanding of basic accounting principles.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience in Purchasing-related activities, including PO proficiency and project management.
• Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Minimum Education:
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum Years of Work Experience:
• A minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience required.

• Strong project management skills with a solid process orientation and ability to work in cross-functional teams.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging senior stakeholders and influencing key decisions.
• Robust analytical skills with an understanding of technical concepts.
• Effective time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks across multiple projects.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities, including mentoring junior colleagues.
