About the Role

Are you a proactive senior administrative professional who excels at staying two steps ahead?

We are seeking a dedicated Business Support professional to provide high-quality, executive-level support to our Pacific Health clinical structure at a national, regional and district level.

In this pivotal role, you will be the "engine room" of the senior leadership team. You will manage complex schedules, coordinate critical team operations, support various projects and handle sensitive information with total discretion. This isn't just about keeping things running; it's about foreshadowing business needs and building the systems that help our senior leadership team succeed.

As the primary point of contact for the National Chief Pacific Health, you will:

coordinate and manage the Pacific Health clinical structure at a national, regional and district/local level
coordinate the Fatu Fono Ola - Pacific Health Senate meetings, including agenda setting, invitations, papers, minutes, tracking actions and communications
manage programmes and actions within the Pacific pipeline to ensure the projects and activities are on-track and within the agreed timeframe
provide day to day administration support to ensure the team's work is delivered on time and to a high-quality standard.
About the Team/Service/ Location

This role sits within the Pacific Health Directorate within Health NZ. The team is dedicated to improving health outcomes for Pacific communities through strategic planning, effective funding allocation, workforce development and strong partnerships with providers and stakeholders. As part of this collaborative and impact-driven team, you will contribute to initiatives that support equitable access to healthcare and culturally responsive services.

Experience: High performance in coordinating and facilitating projects or programmes of work utilising software systems for effectiveness and efficiency, using initiative and agility to maximise performance
Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills (written and oral), diplomacy, negotiation, interpersonal skills to influence, inspire and motivate others, including staff, clinicians and stakeholders
Community Partnerships: Demonstrate previous successful partnership with Pacific Peoples Communities; conversant in/a level of/committed to learning Samoan, Cook Island Māori, Tongan, Niuean, Fijian, Tokelauan, Tuvaluan, or Kiribati will be preferential
Discretion: A proven track record of handling highly confidential and sensitive information with integrity.
Initiative: The ability to work autonomously, troubleshoot non-routine issues, and develop new procedures where gaps exist.
