CCH Kitchen Lead (Part Time, Contract)
Camp Chief Hector YMCA (Exshaw, Alberta)
Salary: $19.38/hr (Affordable Room & Board included)
Start Date: Immediately
End Date: September 4th, 2026 (possibility of extension for the fall/winter season)
Successful candidate will work 40 hours/week.

What qualifications are we looking for?
At YMCA Calgary we strive to ensure our employees are a fit based on their strengths, interests, and future goals. The successful candidate will have the following;
Previous experience in banquet and large volume kitchens or line cooking;
Experience working with children and youth
Strong communication skills
A positive attitude and positive teamwork experience
A love for the outdoors and the Rocky Mountains!
Current Standard First Aid with CPR-C certificated within the last 12 months from an approved AB OHS provider. Asset if certification is issued by one of the following five Canadian organizations: Canadian Red Cross, Heart and Stroke Foundation, Lifesaving Society, St John's Ambulance and/or Canadian Ski Patrol.
Food Safe Certification (or willing to obtain with us)
Clear Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Search;
Three professional references
What does this role look like at YMCA Calgary?
Duties and Responsibilities include
Help with preparing nutritious and delicious food, including for people with dietary restrictions
Ensure timely preparation of meals, and adequate storage of all food and supplies
Support a positive kitchen culture and respectful workplace
Support Camp Chief Hector YMCA risk management rules and guidelines
Work as an active and positive member of the Camp Chief Hector YMCA staff team
Cater to a high-end demographic with events such as weddings, conferences and retreats
Ensure the kitchen is held at a high standard of sanitation and cleanliness
Assist in the production of baked goods
Ensure food waste is kept to a minimum
Model and support the values of Camp Chief Hector YMCA and YMCA Calgary
