YOUR MISSION (The Job Description)
This position is responsible for overseeing the compilation of gaming and non-gaming revenues, related tax filings, and performance of audit and validation procedures to ensure accuracy of financial statements and compliance with all regulatory controls.
Requirements:
THE NITTY-GRITTY (The Essential Job Duties)
Responsible for the completion of monthly general ledger closing entries associated with gaming and non-gaming revenue and revenue related items
Assist the Controller with the monthly financial close, ad hoc reporting, and other related duties
Manage the audit team and recording of daily revenues, as well as the count team
Responsible for the timely filing and payment requests of gaming taxes
Review and assure accuracy and timeliness of assigned account reconciliations
Participate in the monthly financial reviews
Responsible for the hiring, training, scheduling, and evaluation of the Audit staff
Ensure full compliance with all NV Gaming Control Board MICs
Ensure compliance with internal operating procedures and controls
Assist in any external audits
WHAT IT TAKES (The Qualities We Look For)
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
Three to five years of supervisory experience in a high-volume, complex casino environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills
Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite applications and products
In lieu of a degree and previously mentioned experience, eight years of supervisory experience in a high-volume, complex casino environment may be considered
Ability to facilitate department roles in monthly financial closings
MUST HAVE'S
Current, legal, and unrestricted ability to work in the United States
Must be able to obtain/maintain Nevada Gaming licensing requirements
Knowledge of NV Gaming Control Board MICs
WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE'S
High attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills
Aptitude for solving discrepancies, and identifying irregularities
