Job Description
Remuneration of $35.54 gross per hour + superannuation.
Positions are casual and on an as needs basis. Applications will be retained on file to fill vacancies within our casual pool as they arise.
Please note, rates of pay for all fitness and leisure facility employees aged between 15-18 years of age are paid in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award 2026, Clause 32. Junior and Trainee Employment. For further information, please see Council’s Junior Rates of Pay Fact Sheet.
Key responsibilities:
Undertake lifeguard duties including surveillance of water activities, rescue, and application of first aid treatment.
Supervise patrons using the aquatic facilities to maximise customer safety and enjoyment.
Facility presentation including set up and pack away of equipment and cleaning of all areas of the Aquatic Centre and Bolton Park Stadium.
Adhere to Council’s policies and procedures.
Deliver effective customer service to all patrons and assist in the coordination of programs/bookings.
Assist in the maintenance of pool operations and in the maintenance and preparation of the facilities.
Ensure consistent high levels of cleanliness, hygiene, safety, and security is maintained within the centre.
Participate in regular in-house training sessions and staff meetings.
Maintain currency of qualifications relevant to the position.
Complete other reasonable duties or tasks as required with consultation from the Aquatics Supervisor.
What you will need to succeed:
Current First Aid Certificate or proof of enrolment in course.
Current Pool Lifeguard Licence or proof of enrolment in course.
NSW Working with Children Check Clearance.
Aquatic Management Certificate (Desirable).
Current Pool Operations Certificate (Desirable).
Are highly motivated, driven to achieve and want to provide service for the community.
Are committed to the WH&S requirements of the role.
In accordance with Work Health and Safety legislation, successful candidates are required to be vaccinated for Hepatitis A and Hepatitis B and will be asked to provide evidence of this.
