Responsibilities
Conduct thorough patient assessments, including diagnostic evaluations using, ICD-10 coding systems, to determine appropriate treatment plans.
Deliver individual and group counseling sessions utilizing evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, behavioral therapy, and applied behavior analysis.
Develop personalized treatment strategies that incorporate crisis intervention, case management, and family counseling to support holistic recovery.
Maintain accurate medical documentation and records in compliance with HIPAA regulations, ensuring confidentiality and data integrity.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate home and community care services, hospital-based treatments, and outpatient programs for seamless patient support.
Engage in ongoing research activities related to addiction medicine and behavioral health to enhance clinical practices.
Provide crisis management during acute episodes, utilizing skills in crisis intervention and behavior management to stabilize clients effectively.
Experience
Proven experience in addiction counseling or clinical counseling within behavioral health or mental health settings.
Familiarity with medical terminology, medical records management, intake procedures, and CPT coding for billing purposes.
Strong background in social work or related fields with hands-on experience in patient assessment and diagnostic evaluation.
Demonstrated ability to manage crisis situations confidently.
Experience working in hospital environments or community-based settings involving home care or outpatient services is highly desirable.
Knowledge of ICD-10 coding systems for accurate documentation and billing processes.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse populations while adhering to confidentiality standards under HIPAA regulations.
