Overview
Senior executive responsible for technology vision and product/engineering direction, driving technology innovation, leading engineering and R&D, and ensuring delivery of scalable, secure products and platforms that achieve business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Technology Strategy: Define and execute the company’s technology and product roadmap aligned with business strategy and market opportunities.
Product & Engineering Leadership: Lead engineering, product development, QA, and R&D to deliver high-quality, scalable products on schedule.
Architecture & Platform: Own system and solution architecture, technical standards, developer experience, and platform scalability (cloud, microservices, APIs).
Innovation & Road mapping: Identify, evaluate, and adopt emerging technologies (AI/ML, serverless, edge, blockchain) to create competitive advantage and new revenue streams.
Technical Operations & Reliability: Ensure operational excellence — performance, availability, observability, incident management, and SRE/DevOps practices.
Security & Privacy Collaboration: Partner with security leads to embed secure-by-design principles and compliance into development lifecycles.
Talent Development: Recruit, mentor, and retain engineering and technical leaders; cultivate strong engineering culture and career paths.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with CEO, product, sales, marketing, and customer success to prioritize features, requirements, and technical investments.
Budgeting & Resource Allocation: Manage technology budgets, capital expenses, and vendor/third-party relationships tied to engineering and platform.
Delivery & Metrics: Define KPIs for engineering productivity, product adoption, technical debt, and time-to-market; drive continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (advanced degree preferred).
Typically 10+ years in software engineering and at least 5 years in senior technical leadership roles (VP Engineering, Head of Engineering, etc.).
Proven experience building and scaling engineering teams and production-grade distributed systems.
Strong expertise in modern software architectures (cloud-native, microservices), CI/CD, test automation, and observability.
Experience with product strategy and working closely with product management.

Pay: $54.60 – $92.90 per hour
