For this project we are seeking a Chief Tunnel Ventilation Expert.
The Bhopal & Indore Metro Project comprises the construction of about 28km new metro line for Bhopal and about 30km new metro line for Indore with a design speed of +0 km/h. The project shall provide a fast, comfortable, reliable and safe mode of transport between the Karond square to AIIMS and Bhadbhada square to Ratnagiri Tiraha in Bhopal and ring Nainod super corridor between Bhawarshala to Ganpati Nainod in Indore, utilizing state-of-the-art communication-based train control (CBTC) for Grade of Automation 4 (GoA4) and Automatic Fare Collection (AFC).
The two metro lines are needed to meet the transportation needs of a growing population that will exceed 4.3 million and 5.1 million in Bhopal and Indore, respectively, by 2041. The two lines will reach a daily ridership of 25,+05 (Bhopal) and 25,526 (Indore) passengers per hour by 2054.
The project consists of the design and construction of elevated viaducts, underground works (tunnel), stations, depots, workshops and civil works.
DB Engineering & Consulting (DB E&C) is part of a consortio working in Bhopal & Indore Metro Project representing the client Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MPMRCL). We are responsible for overall project management, design, assistance in procurement, construction management, supervision, system integration, interface management, testing and commissioning.

Responsibilities
• Responsible for the implementation and management of the Tunnel Ventilation System (TVS), Environmental control system (ECS), Building Automation System (BAS), Fire Life Safety System for the Underground section including UG stations and mid-shafts etc.
• Checking and review of preliminary designs submitted by DDC for TVS, ECS, BAS, Fire Life Safety System for the underground section including UG stations and mid-shafts etc. and design criteria and detailed design parameters submitted by DDC for TVS, ECS, BAS, Fire life safety system for tunnel including cross passages, UG stations and mid shafts (if any) as well as sub-way Environmental Simulation (SES) & Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) Computer Analysis submitted by DDC for UG section under: (a) Normal Operating mode, (b) Congested Operation mode, (c) Emergency Operation mode
• Checking and review of detailed designs evolved by DDC including sizing of capacity and quantity of major TVS and ECS, BAS and Fire Life Safety equipments for UG section including tunnel, stations and mid shafts (if any). Major equipments (TVS & ECS) generally include all the tunnel ventilation fans, booster/jet fans, trackway exhaust fans, tunnel pneumatic/electric/electro hydraulic motorized dampers, water/air cooled chillers, chilled and condenser water pumps, cooling tower, Air Handling Unit, Fan Coil Unit etc. and technical submissions and specifications submitted by DDC for major TVS and ECS, BAS and Fire Life Safety equipments for UG section including tunnel, stations and mid shafts (if any)
• Checking and review of construction tender prepared by DDC for E&M including TVS, ECS, BAS and fire life safety system etc. for UG section before invitation of bids
• Attend pre bid conference with the prospective bidders for the construction tenders and draft replies to pre-bid queries and corrigendum
• Support in the evaluation of bids and award of construction tender for E&M including TVS, ECS, BAS and fire life safety system etc. for UG section
• Post award of construction tender, supervise and monitor review of designs, technical guaranteed parameters for major equipments submitted by the contractor for issue of procurement orders and check good for construction drawings submitted by the contractor and supervise installation, testing and commissioning of TVS, ECS, BAS, fire life safety system etc in the UG section
• Attend correspondence with statutory authority for approval of above system
• Interface/coordination with all stake holders (Civil and System Contractors) for design, procurement, installation, testing & commissioning of above systems for UG section
Requirements
• Graduation in Engineering
• 20+ years of post qualification work experience
• 5+ years of experience working in similar positions/roles, on metro projects with GC/PMC/Client/Supervision or Construction
• More than 2 metro projects in similar or equivalent positions.
