Your new role
We are currently recruiting for an enthusiastic Cook who is passionate about preparing and delivering fresh and wholesome meals in an Early Childhood Centre. You will be part of an exciting integrated team at our Knox Children and Family Centre (Early Years Hub).
This role is temporary part time (30 hours per week) until late February 2025. There is some flexibility in the hours worked, including the option of working school hours.
The Centre Cook is required to work collaboratively with other kitchen staff, as well as Educators and Team Leaders within the Knox Children and Family Centre. The Cook is responsible for preparing quality nutritious, well-balanced meals for children within the long day care service in a manner consistent with the preferences, cultural differences and dietary requirements and in accordance with food safety guidelines and Centre processes.
This is a part time temporary role based at one of our Knox Children and Family Centres in Wantirna South or Bayswater.
This is a Band 3 classified role, remuneration will be $33.42 - $34.74 per hour. These rates depend on experience. In addition you will receive superannuation in accordance with the Superannuation Guarantee.

The key selection criteria for this role are:
Demonstrated commitment to displaying the Organisations values.
Community Health Food Safety Supervisor (desirable)
Experience in the area of food preparation and nutrition
Physical capacity to meet the inherent requirements of the position
A commitment to high quality customer service
The qualifications and experience desired include:
Certificate in Food Handling
Working with Children Check
Current First Aid Certificate
Experience in food preparation
Experience in preparing dietary requirement meals
(e.g. preparation of meals for consumption by a child with allergies)
