Summary:
Join our dynamic team as a Claims Support Team Leader! We are seeking an experienced and highly capable supervisor to lead our team in enhancing our claims support services. This in-office position is available at our locations in Houston, TX, Omaha, NE, Rockwood, PA, or Richmond, VA. Embrace a collaborative culture as we work together in the office five days a week to strengthen connections and drive success.
This role reports to the AVP of Claims Support and will manage a dedicated team of Claims Assistants across our Casualty, Specialty, and Workers' Compensation Lines of Business.
Essential Responsibilities:
• Supervise, train, and mentor a small team of Claims Assistants, fostering their development and ensuring technical excellence in claims support.
• Lead the execution of claims support functions while continuously improving processes and procedures for operational excellence.
• Set performance objectives and metrics to align with department goals and evaluate team success.
• Oversee budget management for team expenditures to ensure fiscal responsibility.
• Participate in the hiring process to recruit and retain exceptional Claims Assistants committed to providing top-notch customer service.
• Act as a role model by embodying Argo Group's core values and fostering a positive and engaging work environment.
• Ensure timely and quality completion of clerical tasks assigned to a third-party vendor, SGS.
• Collaborate with Claims Management to develop strategic plans that enhance efficiency, supporting both growth and profitability goals.
• Drive continuous improvement through employee engagement, innovative processes, and technology initiatives.
• Conduct quality audits of completed tasks to ensure adherence to claims best practices and financial outcomes.
• Assist with overflow tasks from the Claims Assistants as necessary to maintain timely completion of all support work.
• Work outside of normal business hours occasionally, as needed.
Qualifications / Experience Required:
• Minimum four years of experience in claims support roles, including at least one year in a managerial capacity.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or equivalent related experience.
• Strong understanding of how an insurance company operates and how this role contributes to profitability.
• Ability to make informed decisions while considering risk and compliance.
• Results-oriented with a strong focus on executing plans and achieving goals.
• Resourceful and flexible, capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment that is ever-evolving.
• Skilled in selecting and developing talented team members, fostering a shared success mindset within the team.
• Experienced in mentoring and creating development plans for team colleagues.
• Proficient in conflict resolution and maintaining healthy workplace relationships.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a focus on clarity and collaboration.
• Commitment to continuous personal and professional development and learning.
• Proficient in MS Office Suite and other relevant business software.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
