Job Description — Class 5 Truck Driver (Cromwell & Central Otago)
Role Summary
A Class 5 truck driver transports goods, materials, or freight between locations in Cromwell and throughout the Otago region.
The salary will range from $30.00 to $35.00 for a minimum of 30 hours a week. Any overtime worked over 30 hours will be paid as per the base hourly pay.
Type: Full- Time
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Transport finished goods/ raw materials from the sites as required
Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance
Plan routes and meet delivery schedules
Document and log work/rest periods and kilometres spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts
Input into our automated system for each stage of the loading and unloading process
Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking, and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedure
Manoeuvre trucks into loading or unloading positions
Collect and verify delivery instructions
Report defects, accidents or violations
Should be able to stay away from home if required (company will pay).
May have overnight drives
Should be available on weekends
Valid license class 5
D, F, and OSH endorsements preferred
Training will be provided
May involve early starts, weekend availability, or overnight stays if required by delivery schedules.
