Key Role Summary
The Commercial Advisor - Asset Assurance plays a crucial role within Rail Services, supporting the management of Metro Rolling Stock. This position entails providing technical and operational support to oversee the train fleet's performance and maintenance requirements.

This position will monitor fleet performance and rolling stock maintenance needs, focusing on reliability growth, running, and Technical Maintenance compliance. The role will also conduct assurance activities, including reporting on asset condition, repairs, vandalism, graffiti, and presentation standards.
Main Responsibilities
Undertake assurance activities to ensure contractors and operators meet their contract obligations.
Provide technical advice and knowledge to resolve potential discrepancies and disputes.
Monitor configuration changes, repairs, modifications, retrofit activities, and track against program and scheduled maintenance cycles.
Participate in daily and monthly performance meetings and establish strong relationships with operators and contractors to achieve performance-based outcomes.
Support senior advisors in preparing and presenting high-quality technical analyses and advice on contractual obligations, emerging issues, and reporting.
Key Selection Criteria
To succeed as a Commercial Advisor - Asset Assurance, you must be able to define and coordinate tasks, guide teams through project execution, and monitor progress while implementing corrective actions when necessary.
Apply data literacy skills to consider data sources, structure, and collection impacts.
Utilize advanced Excel functions to generate descriptive statistics and data visualizations that inform decision-making.
Critically think and solve problems by evaluating issues from multiple perspectives and delivering effective solutions.
Manage stakeholder relationships by identifying shared issues, building mutually beneficial partnerships, and addressing stakeholders' needs.
Qualifications and Experience
Mandatory qualifications include a qualification in Auditing and a minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role. Tertiary degree in Engineering, Business, or Diploma in Quality Assurance is also required.
