Job Description

As part of the CB Controller team, you will play a key role in providing business advisory and accounting support, as well as end-to-end control oversight, ensuring integrity (timeliness, accuracy, and completeness) of the financial statements throughout APAC. This role will report to the APAC CB Controller based in Hong Kong.

Job Responsibilties
Partnering with key stakeholders (Front Office, Middle Office, Operations, Legal Entity Control, Tax) to review current practices/processes, identifying deficiencies and/or weaknesses, and delivering solutions to enhance the current control and reporting environment.
Investigation, explanation, and communication of business drivers underpinning significant financial movements and variances for Front Office, Legal Entity Controllers, Corporate Reporting, and other key stakeholders
Ensuring Line of Business by Legal Entity financials are accurate by mitigating risks and implementing effective controls
Ensuring that product booking (inclusive of transfer pricing considerations) in legal entities comply with the applicable regulatory and accounting requirements, Firmwide policies, and legal entity agreements
Ensuring compliance with relevant US GAAP, local GAAP, and local accounting standards, as well as internal corporate accounting policies, legal entity control standards, regulatory requirements and other applicable Firmwide standards
Demonstrating a clear understanding of CB's product offering, explaining key drivers impacting the balance sheet and income statement and providing insightful analysis to facilitate effective and focused management of the business
Continuously improving the way we do business through review of current practices/processes, identifying deficiencies and/or weaknesses, and delivering solutions to enhance the current control framework of the business, particularly through innovation employing automation technology
Partnering with global counterparts to ensure consistency in regional practices, where applicable , Ad hoc queries and business critical project support as required in a dynamic business environment

Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related discipline
Chartered Accountant or equivalent professional credentials
5+ years accounting, finance or audit experience, with banking experience a plus
Working knowledge of US GAAP, Local GAAP and IFRS
Strong analytical acumen and investigative problem-solving and decision-making skills
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication skills and ability to develop strong working relationships
Demonstrated knowledge of data management concepts and automation experience

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills
Previous role at a large public accounting firm, financial institution, and/or controller experience preferred
Knowledge of GAAP rules preferred
