Support the delivery of important Council services

5-month contract, Band 7
Are you an experienced communications practitioner who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment? This is an exciting opportunity to share your communications expertise across a variety of Council services, while actively contributing to the Boroondara community.
A little bit about the role
As Communications Lead - Places and Spaces, you will bring a fresh perspective to our Strategic Communication team, allowing you the opportunity to influence, lead and innovate on key initiatives and services, collaborating with various teams across Council.
Working within our Strategic Communications team, you will play a lead role in planning and implementing communication strategies for the Environmental Sustainability & Open Space, Traffic & Transport, Capital Projects, Waste Facilities & Infrastructure, and Asset & Capital Planning teams who sit within the Places and Spaces directorate.
You will manage many projects at any given time. You will research information, write clearly and concisely, and edit and produce different kinds of content for mass and specific target audience groups across a broad range of communication channels.
You will also have expertise in delivering community consultation and engagement campaigns which support the development of new services and community infrastructure.
You will enjoy communicating with diverse groups and will influence stakeholders to achieve successful communication outcomes. You will have the opportunity to influence communication outcomes across all levels and provide direct leadership to a senior communication officer.
You are an expert in communications, more specifically you thrive in a multi-channel environment where change is constant in our day to day. You develop and foster positive stakeholder relationships with ease and apply a proactive approach while working with your business partners. Having a broad background in strategic communications and engagement will be key to your success in this role.
