Confluence Water, a Ventia, Downer and Jacobs Joint Venture, is one of three Regional Delivery Partnerships providing services for Sydney Water. We work hard to ensure that Sydney Water keeps running for people who live in the North Region of Sydney - rain, hail or shine. We are often the first to reach an emergency during severe weather events and we are responsible for the delivery of an unprecedented pipeline of capital works across the life of our ten-year contract.
Confluence Water delivers design, construction, maintenance and facilities management services from Sydney Harbour to the Hawkesbury River and includes the Hills Shire.
We have an opportunity for a Community Engagement Advisor to join our high performing team. We are seeking an enthusiastic professional with relevant experience in community and stakeholder engagement. You would be based in our Chatswood Head Office, and the role involves frequent travel to our project sites, depots and Sydney Water assets around Sydney’s north and north-west, with opportunities for flexible work.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
Ensure the ‘customer is at the heart’ as we deliver our work program.
Support the Confluence Water and Sydney Water teams in designing, constructing and maintaining water, wastewater, recycled water and some stormwater services across our region.
Develop and implement community engagement plans to engage stakeholders, communities and customers.
Work on multiple projects across various workstreams with multi-disciplinary project teams and internal stakeholders.
ABOUT YOU:
Here’s what you’ll need:
Community and stakeholder engagement experience, ideally with training in or an understanding of IAP2 (International Association of Public Participation) principles.
Relevant tertiary qualifications in communications, public relations, sustainability, environmental science / management, urban planning, engineering or other social science disciplines.
Previous experience in the planning and / or delivery of construction projects, preferably in the utilities sector and ideally with prior Sydney Water experience.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, and high levels of emotional intelligence and empathy.
