Build connection. Strengthen community. Create spaces where wellbeing thrives.

The City of Playford isn’t just growing, it’s growing with purpose. As one of South Australia’s fastest growing council areas, we are committed to shaping communities where people feel connected, supported, and inspired.

We are seeking a Community Hub Project Officer to help bring our Community and Neighbourhood Development (CND) Program to life. This role goes beyond program delivery, it’s about creating welcoming spaces where children, families, and neighbours can thrive, connect, and feel empowered. If you’re passionate about building stronger communities and making a tangible difference in people’s lives, this is your opportunity to turn that passion into action.

Why This Role
The CND Program delivers a network of connected sites and activities that support physical, social and mental wellbeing. At the centre of this is the Playford Wellbeing Hub, a place where relationships are built, community voices are heard, and participation is encouraged.

In this role, you will help design, deliver and evaluate community programs that respond to real community needs. You will bring a hands-on approach to the Hub, welcoming families, coordinating volunteers, partnering with stakeholders, and ensuring every activity contributes to stronger community capacity.

What You’ll Be Doing
You will play a key role in:
Supporting day to day operations of the Playford Community Hub in line with the annual work plan
Designing and delivering evidence informed programs for children and families
Engaging community members to build participation, connection and belonging
Coordinating promotions and guiding volunteers
Collecting and analysing data, preparing reports, and meeting DHS funding requirements
Building cross sector partnerships and representing Council at community forums and events

What You’ll Bring
Qualifications in Community Development or Community Capacity Building (or equivalent experience)
Strong knowledge of community development and engagement principles, including IAP2
Experience designing, delivering and evaluating evidence-based community wellbeing programs
Ability to collaborate across sectors and engage diverse community members to achieve constructive outcomes
Strong communication, professional judgement and problem-solving skills
Capacity to manage competing priorities and meet reporting timelines
Experience within or alongside Local Government (desirable)
