The Department of Families is hiring a Community Social Services Supervisor!
The Community Social Services Division provides or purchases/arranges direct client services for all departmental programs through a network of offices located in three regions and six community areas in Regional Social Services, Employment, Income and Health Supports and Centralized Services and Resources. In the Winnipeg Region, these integrated community-based social and health services with the Department of Families, are paired with Winnipeg Regional Health Authority staff, to be efficient, effective, and holistic services which are person/family/community focused, seamless, and recognize the principles of population health and primary health care. In Regional Social Services the Community Social Services Supervisor is an integral part of the Regional Management Team and is responsible to directly manage one or more of the following wide range of services: Community Living disAbility Services, Employment and Income Assistance, and non-legislated programs: Children’s disabilities Services.

Duties:
Reporting to the Regional Director, the Community Social Services Supervisor is responsible for providing leadership and support in a range of management and supervisory activities associated with the following responsibilities:
Service delivery including policy interpretation, integrated case management program recommendations, implementation and evaluation of services;
Operational planning
Financial management and administration
Human resource management;
Systems management and communication
Leadership support to staff through the ongoing integration and change process
The Community Social Services Supervisor provides professional knowledge and direction in the areas of assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, risk management, problem-solving, and case management. This includes crisis management, intervention, and issue resolution in the provision of supports and services delivered by the staff assigned to them from the following legislated programs: Community Living disAbility Services, Employment and Income Assistance, and non-legislated programs: Children’s disAbility Services.
Qualifications:
Essential:
Post-secondary degree in Social Sciences (BSW Preferred). A combination of education and experience maybe considered.
Experience in human resource management and the ability to supervise a service delivery team, including attendance and performance management, orientating, training, coaching and developing staff.
Leadership experience in a social service delivery environment which includes managing administration of programs, managing service delivery to clients, and planning and evaluation of services delivered to clients.
Case management experience in a social services setting.
Experience with the interpretation, evaluation and implementation of policies, processes and procedures.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop, foster and maintain respectful relationships with diverse external and internal stakeholders.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills including the ability to synthesise information, make recommendations and decisions.
Strong political acumen with the ability to manage confidential and politically sensitive material and situations in an appropriate manner.
Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to express ideas in a clear, concise and organized manner for a variety of audiences.
Excellent written communication skills with the ability to create a variety of documents and reports for various audiences.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage, prioritize and meet competing deadlines.
Desired:
Experience in financial management activities, including planning, budgeting and/or expenditure control for operational programs.
Knowledge of The Adults Living with an Intellectual Disability Act, The Social Services Administration Act, The Manitoba Assistance Act, The Personal Health Information Act (PHIA), The Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA).

Must be able to work evenings, weekends and statutory holidays as required
Must have a valid Manitoba Class 5 Driver's Licence and access to a vehicle
Must have the ability to travel within the Province of Manitoba
