We are looking for a new recruit to join our Regulatory Compliance team at Bay of Plenty Regional Council, as a Compliance Officer, specialising in the compliance of water takes that support primary industries.
This is a three-year fixed term role, working 40 hours per week and it can be based in your choice of our offices; Tauranga, Whakatāne or Rotorua.
Te āhuatunga a te tūranga | About the role
There will be plenty of variety in this role including:
Assess water take resource consent compliance, including on-site inspections and PM compliance (e.g. water meter verifications).
Provide timely follow-up to non-compliance and progress to enforcement action where necessary.
Liaise with industry groups that rely on, or service water take consents i.e. Irrigation NZ, water meter verifiers and 3rd party data providers.
Ō pūmanawa | Your skills and experience
Along with a passion for your work, you will have;
A relevant Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent level of experience.
A minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience, preferably in the water resources field, or experience as a Regulatory Compliance Officer managing a variety of resource consents.
A confident manner, with the ability to work autonomously, and communicate effectively to a wide range of audiences.
An ability to project manage a large work portfolio
Practical and pragmatic with excellent compliance management skills.
The ability to build and maintain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
Hold a full New Zealand driver’s licence.
