Job Description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
A minimum of 3-4 years’ experience as a Concrete Form Setter with city and flatwork experience
Strong understanding of City of Calgary Roads and City of Calgary Parks specifications
Lays out concrete forms and pins for the required pieces that will be poured.
Pound pins to keep the forms secure.
Maintaining forms.
Strips forms from concrete pieces already poured and cured.
Behaves in a manner that ensures the safety of themselves, their co-workers, and others on the work sites.
Reports incidents, injuries, and near misses and participates in the investigative process.
Assists other employees when required.
Attends and participates in toolbox and safety committee meetings as scheduled.
Adheres to company policies, procedures, and directions regarding standards of workplace behaviour in completing job duties and assignments.
Complies with the standards and procedures of North Star’s health and safety manual and Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Active Standard First Aid Certification.
Ground Disturbance
Construction Safety Training System (CSTS) Certification.
WHMIS Certification.
Strong Knowledge of Calgary and the surrounding area.
Self-motivating and able to complete tasks with minimal supervision.
Physically fit.
Understand and follow verbal and written directions.
Strong work ethic with demonstrated dedication and reliability.
Must be able to work as a member of a greater team.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Must have own transportation
Must be able to lift and carry 50 – 75 lbs. forming material
Must be able to work long hours and weekends.
Must have CSA-approved safety boots.
