This role will provide key planning and scheduling services for the project teams. Working closely with internal Project Teams, Contractors and Professional Services they will develop fully integrated work schedules that optimise project delivery. They will make recommendations and be responsible for monitoring and reporting on risks and ensuring early warnings on any delays to project milestones.

About the role:

This Role will also need to lead coordination and conduct meetings with other relevant parties to cover scheduling issues and risk analysis for the Project team.

Some of your key responsibilities will be:

Develop, maintain, and optimise the overall programme schedule, integrating inputs from multiple projects and stakeholders to ensure coherence and alignment.
Identify critical path activities, milestones, and dependencies; proactively manage changes and impacts to the programme.
Ensure that complex and integrated project schedules use Oracle Primavera P6 to ensure optimised project delivery through well planned and sequenced projects.
Ensure all schedules follow AKL approved Work Breakdown Structures and activity naming conventions to allow analysis across the capital portfolio by the PMO.
Advise the project managers on planning options that optimises project delivery. Reduction in project delays through early warnings and mitigations.
Ensure best practice is following, influencing project managers to make decisions that positively impact delivery metrics.
Conduct variance analysis and prepare reports on schedule performance, budget adherence, and resource utilisation.
Report on critical and near critical paths and trends to enable the project manager to keep the project on track.
Review, develop and report on improvement initiatives for all systems and processes relating to specific areas of expertise.
Develop and maintain effective relationships.

To ensure your success in this role, you will need:

Tertiary qualification in Engineering or Construction (or related planning, design or risk management).
7+ years of project planning/scheduling experience supporting civil construction projects.
Specialist experience in working with scheduling tool Oracle Primavera P6 and MS project.
Specialist experience in working with sophisticated risk analysis software preferably Oracle Primavera Risk or other risk management applications / software capable of adjusting work break down structures using Monte Carlo analysis.
Analytical experience in producing ad hoc and routine reporting for decision making.
Experience making planning recommendations to optimise project delivery.
