POSITION SUMMARY
As a Conflicts Investigator, you will play a vital role in the Conflicts Services team, initiating the conflict resolution process for all new business engagements with the Firm.
Your responsibilities will include collecting, reviewing, researching, and analyzing conflict of interest information for new business matters. This essential function supports the Firm's commitment to maintaining the highest ethical standards in accordance with professional responsibility rules and internal policies.
This role involves close collaboration with Firm partners, support staff, and the Conflicts Manager: New Business, as well as the entire Conflicts and Business Intake Department.
WORK HOURS
This is a full-time position with working hours from Monday to Friday, 8:45 am to 5:15 pm CT, and includes a rotational shift (approximately one day per week) from 11:00 am to 7:30 pm CT.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
• Collect and review requests for new clients and matters
• Research corporate information and family structures using internal databases and external resources
• Create conflict reports and summaries for Conflicts Attorneys, highlighting potential risks
• Maintain accurate client and matter data in the firm's intake and conflict management systems
• Assist with research requests and various projects, including audit letters and lateral hires
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor's Degree required
• 2+ years of experience in a law firm setting, preferably in a conflicts department
• Familiarity with professional responsibility rules
• Proficiency in conflicts software (Intapp), research tools (D&B, CapIQ), and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to analyze details critically, think independently, and escalate issues as needed
• Capable of working collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
• Skilled in managing urgent tasks and balancing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Professional demeanor with a focus on customer service and discretion in handling sensitive information

The anticipated pay range for this role is $65,000-$90,000 in Chicago. The actual offered rate will be determined based on qualifications, experience, geographic location, education, market data, and internal equity.
