Responsibilities
This position will be responsible for executing all monthly accounting and other accounting-related activities, including general, full cycle accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, construction loan draws, job cost accounting, work-in-progress (WIP) reporting, and filing and maintaining organized accounting records, among other accounting-related activities as needed
This role will report directly to the Vice President, Finance with a direct line to the President of the Company
Performing general monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, payroll and journal entries; full use of Foundation software
Assembling information for monthly construction loan draws, including client billings packages in accordance with contract terms and conditions,
Preparation of bank deposits, monthly bank and general ledger reconciliations, and cash receipt entries and cash management
Ensuring receipt of required vendor/subcontractor documentation, including invoices, insurance, bonding, workers compensation, statutory declarations, and lien waivers (as applicable)
Reconciliation of sales/use tax on projects, verifying sales tax calculations and coding
Posting job billings and change orders; follow up on payment
Review contracts for the financial related terms and conditions, ensure that they are clearly and accurately represented on the Project Opening documentation
Inform Project Managers of any discrepancies
Process draft invoices and all related documents through an electronic billing system
Prepare final invoices for all billable projects, including all applicable backup and uploading final invoices to clients billing portals if needed
Maintain electronic filing and archiving of project specific documents, including project opening forms, contracts, proposals and budget changes
Perform in-depth analysis of individual business’ income statements and provide commentary to management on business performance, trends, and profitability
Assist in development and improvement in internal policies & procedures to ensure compliance and the highest integrity of the Company
Interpreting trade partner documentation for accounting-related items
Providing project teams with ad hoc reports and analysis, as needed
Maintaining organization of internal filing system
Completing all financial transactions in a timely and accurate manner
Cultivating relationships with accounting equivalents in client and subcontractor offices
Performing other accounting and construction-related duties as required
Analyzes and effectively communicates financial results of the project to upper-level management
Earns trust, credibility, and buy in of processes from Operations team to create better cohesion and clear communication within the organization

Key Functions
