About the Role
This is a permanent full-time position with 44 hours per week. The role offers great variety, and you will work with specialists both internally and externally to maintain excellent working relationships.
No two days are ever the same in this job, as you will see the full spectrum of psychiatry from enduring mental illness through to trauma, grief, and distress.
You will work with supportive and caring colleagues within a close-knit team.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide quality clinical services to people seeking wellness and their family/whanau within Te Whatu Ora Waikato boundaries.
As a clinical expert, ensure that the appropriate and current knowledge, skills, and attitudes in psychiatry are applied to clinical situations and team decision making.
Participate in clinical partnership to ensure that people seeking wellness and their family/whanau receive integrated, appropriate, effective, and efficient assessment and care.
About Our Service
We are the Mental Health and Addictions Service arm of Health New Zealand Te Whatu - Waikato.
We provide specialist services for people who are experiencing serious mental health difficulties.
We strongly encourage family/whanau involvement in the recovery journey of their loved ones.
As a community-based service, we are open Monday to Friday.
We work with community partners across the Waikato.
About You
To be considered for this role, you must be a Psychiatrist who is vocationally registered or eligible for vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
A versatile and flexible clinician with a passion for working as part of a team.

A clinician who is passionate about eliminating health inequities.
