Contract Artist Outreach & Curation Lead (Nature / Ocean Art)
Role Type: Contract (initial 1-week paid pilot)
Location: San Diego / North County Coastal (local preferred)
Time Commitment: Short-term pilot with option to extendCompensation: Pilot stipend + per-artist or per-project follow-on
Role Overview: TheArtForce.org is seeking a contract-based nature and ocean art connoisseur to support artist outreach and curation for our Spotlight Artist program. This role begins with a 1-week pilot designed to assess fit, communication style, and effectiveness before any ongoing engagement.The role centers on relationship-building and artist alignment, not sales. The goal is to respectfully invite selected artists to participate in an ArtForce Spotlight Award and confirm their comfort with an optional teaching or creative template used for educational or PR purposes.
1-Week Pilot Scope
During the pilot week, the contractor will:
Identify 3–5 local artists aligned with ArtForce values (nature, ocean, wellness, community)
Conduct initial outreach conversations (email or short calls)
Confirm:
-Artist interest in a Spotlight Award feature
-Comfort with optional teaching / creative template participation
Deliver a short written summary per artist:
-Fit rationale
-Interest level
-Background story
-Any concerns or constraints
Pilot Success Criteria
Quality and relevance of artist recommendations
Professional, respectful outreach tone
Clear communication and documentation
Alignment with ArtForce mission and values
Ideal Background
Deep familiarity with local coastal / nature art communities
Experience with artist engagement, curation, or arts education
Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
Pay: $500.00 - $2,500.00 per week
