About the job
We are seeking an experienced candidate with a minimum of 2 years experience as a Controller to join our growing, fun team. As the ideal candidate you are energetic, confident and enjoy juggling a variety of tasks for multiple clients. You thrive working in a fast-paced environment and appreciate the balance between speed and accuracy. You have extensive experience with full-cycle accounting in order to help small business owners organize their financial data efficiently and effectively.

The responsibilities include:
Overseeing full-cycle accounting for small and mid sized clients.
Manage the month end close processes, accruals and adjustments including financial reporting
Establish annual financial plan/budgets for clients, and producing monthly variance reports
Produce reports that help business owners better understand their financial performance
Lead year-end close process and liaise with external auditors at year end
Supervise bookkeeping support staff as well as mentoring and coaching.
Experience we are looking for:
2 years experience as a Controller
3 years experience as a Bookkeeper (prior to being a Controller)
Accounting Diploma or University Degree. We recognize skills over designations and respect international training achievements.
Previous supervisory experience (minimum 3 years)
Experience working with cloud-based accounting software
Experience overseeing a team
Solid technical accounting skills
Very strong excel skills (must know how to use pivot tables at minimum)
Experience supporting SaaS companies is an asset (familiarity with SaaS metrics)
Our company is a team of thirty Bookkeepers and Accountants who work cohesively to provide small and medium sized businesses with amazing back end financial support.
