Controller Position With International Sports Event Company
Location: Boston
About the Role: Our client is seeking a Controller to help stabilize our client's financial health and drive sustainable growth for their globally recognized sports event organization. This key role will transform our financial operations from an entrepreneurial stage to a more structured and sophisticated system.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead financial restructuring and support the company's turnaround efforts.
• Ensure accurate monthly financial reporting and general ledger reconciliations.
• Manage Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Tax, and Treasury functions.
• Oversee payroll processing, collaborate with HR on personnel changes, and handle GL postings and withholdings.
• Supervise accounting staff performance, including evaluations, hiring, coaching, and disciplinary actions.
• Respond to auditor requests and assist Finance leadership with financial data inquiries.
• Identify and implement process improvements, support strategic planning, and review tax payments and financial information for decision-making.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred) with 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, international accounting, royalties, and franchise accounting.
• Proven strategic thinking, project management, and process improvement skills.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, with excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and knowledgeable in financial systems (NetSuite preferred).
