At Corston, we believe that the tactile parts of a home are really important and should be done right. Our aim is to make beautiful, high-quality products that all work together to enhance a space.
We are looking for a copywriter to work as part of our team. The ideal candidate will be approachable and organised, with previous experience in writing copy for different brands.
Working within a vibrant and friendly team, the goal of the copywriter is to deliver the Corston brand in a calm and consistent way across all media channels. From launching new products to writing engaging articles, you will be responsible for writing all communications for Corston.
You will be a creative thinker, with a pragmatic approach to bringing our brand to life. You may be wanting to move into an energetic, fast-paced role with an ambitious company, or a freelance writer looking to focus on one brand.
The role responsibilities;
Build a thorough understanding of the Corston story, our heritage, our philosophy and how we talk about ourselves.
Collaborate with other teams to create seamless experiences.
Help define and establish a copy strategy and creative direction with the marketing team.
Take responsibility for the basics, such as grammar, spellchecking and proofing work prior to production.
Share your knowledge within the marketing team and the wider business, to constantly improve copy at Corston.
You’ll need;
5+ years of experience in a reputable creative agency, in-house team or with a proven track record as a freelance writer.
Previous experience of writing copy, ideally in the home retail space.
An inherent skill for storytelling and understanding of narrative structure as a means to engage and absorb people on a human level.
The ability to question a brief and highlight key creative challenges or opportunities.
Excellent copywriting, editing and literacy skills, including spelling and grammar, with a keen eye for detail.
Knowledge of SEO and understanding of performance and analytical tools.
Confidence and good articulation. You’ll be no stranger to presenting your work with passion and enthusiasm, supporting your thinking with clear rationale and creative expression.
A degree and/or 3 years of relevant experience is required.

This is an in-house office position so please don’t apply if you are looking for remote work.
Driving license and own transport essential. Please do not apply if you do not have access to your own transport as the location is not accessible via public transport.
