Responsibilities
Reporting to the Manager, Corporate Accounting, this role will be primarily responsible for providing high quality customer service through delivery of the following functions
• Accounting operations, monthly close activities, and related analysis;
• Consolidated reporting to the parent company;
• Technical accounting research and analysis;
• Support of the company-wide internal controls program, including participation in the drafting, review and/or testing of current processes and controls;
• Support of the relationship with the company’s external auditors and the statutory reporting processes for the company’s global operations.
The particular functions of the role are expected to support the Production team to ensure the delivery of financial accounting and reporting requirements at a global level. This support will extend to a range of month end analysis & journal entries, banking and balance sheet reconciliations and assistance with statutory auditing.
With you expertise you will apply recommendations for operational controls & compliance strategy and make observations of potential issues to mitigate risk to the business.
Having the knowledge and ability to adapt to local country financial regulations is highly advantageous.
Who are we looking for?
This interesting and challenging role will suit a person who is an Accountant with a can-do attitude, and key attributes of being commercially-minded, having a passion for consistent performance and continuous improvement, strong communication skills and a desire to provide a high level of financial guidance. Attention to detail, tenacity and excellent inter personal skills will also be essential for success.
• Bachelor/Master’s degrees in commerce, accounting or similar with completed professional accounting designation (CPA, CA or equivalent)
• 2-4 years’ experience in an accounting or similar finance role, preferable in a service industry with an international company, or 1-2 years post CPA/CA qualifications experience in public accounting
• Previous experience working across multiple country requirements
• Independent, proactive & well organised with strong analytical & effective decision making skills.
• Maintain the highest standard of detail; to ensure accuracy while adhering to deadlines.
• Contemporary knowledge and understanding of accounting principles, legislation and standards;
• Highly proficient and knowledge of auditing practices;
• Highly developed interpersonal skills, with the proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships and communicate with a diverse range of people both internal and external;
• Team oriented and results focused.
• Experience with Microsoft D365 advantageous
