Overview:
Nexera Capital is seeking a dedicated full-time Accountant to join our corporate and property management teams. This role involves preparing daily, monthly, and annual accounting functions for Nexera's portfolio. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure.
Here's what we are looking for:
Accounts Payable:
• Verify accuracy of invoices (amount, general ledger coding, date, vendor name and address, terms, and proper approval).
• Make necessary changes to postings in M3 accounting software.
• Respond promptly to vendor inquiries and payment requests.
• Maintain complete and accurate paid invoice files by vendor.
• Oversee accounts payable processing in M3.
• Process manual payments if needed
Bank Reconciliation:
• Maintain assigned bank reconciliations on a current basis.
• Report significant variances immediately to Management Team.
Sales & Use Tax Returns:
• Prepare monthly and/or quarterly sales tax, use tax, and local occupancy tax returns.
Daily Revenue Reports:
• Review, correct, and post daily revenue journals.
Financial Reporting:
• Prepare monthly financial statements including P&Ls, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statement in M3.
• Generate year-end financial statements and reports necessary to complete tax returns.
Skills Required:
• At least 3 years minimum experience working with M3 accounting software.
• Ability to prioritize and organize work assignments.
• Clear thinker under pressure with good judgment.
• Attention to detail, speed, and accuracy.
• Maintain confidentiality and pertinent hotel information.
Essential Functions:
• Collaborate with the Operations Team and Executives to improve financial reporting accuracy and timeliness.
• Ensure accurate and timely preparation of monthly financial reporting packages.
• Review hotels' accounts receivable monthly and prepare appropriate bad debt/allowance entries.
• Recommend and implement financial reporting process improvements.
• Ensure deadlines for payments and reporting are met.
• Participate in weekly executive team meetings.
• Develop, monitor, and report on internal controls compliance.
Identify problem areas and assist in implementing solutions.
• Analyze financial data to advise management in achieving financial objectives.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the executive team.
