Our client, a respected and growing boutique law firm located just south of Calgary, is seeking an experienced Senior Paralegal to join their dynamic litigation team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on complex and meaningful files spanning constitutional law, civil litigation, and class action matters in a collaborative, client-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage a diverse caseload of constitutional, civil, and class action files from inception through resolution
Work as part of a team
Drafting and preparing legal documents, including pleadings, affidavits, briefs, and court filings
Coordinate and manage document production, organization, and review for large-scale litigation matters
Conduct legal research and assist with case strategy development
Liaise with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and court officials in a professional and timely manner
Monitor deadlines, maintain litigation calendars, and ensure procedural compliance
Assist with trial preparation, including compiling exhibits, briefs, and coordinating logistics
Utilize EasyLaw for file management, document preparation, and workflow efficiency
Mentor junior staff and contribute to process improvements within the firm
Qualifications & Experience:
Paralegal diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
3+ years of litigation experience, with exposure to constitutional and/or class action matters considered a strong asset
Strong knowledge of Alberta court procedures and litigation processes
Proven ability to manage complex files with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
Advanced drafting and organizational skills
Experience working with EasyLaw or similar legal practice management software
Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
Professional, mature, and confident communicator with strong judgment
