The location in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, is seeking talent to fill the position of Cost Accountant. This job is full-time permanent.
Responsabilities
Perform financial reporting processes, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statement close procedures, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
Prepare annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
Conduct costing analysis and provide guidance to Mill Management.
Compile grade cost analysis and margin reports for Mill Management.
Assist with special projects or assignments as needed.
Understand journal entries, accounting flows, and operational back-office processes.
Identify potential risks in accounts and resolve reconciling items promptly.
Produce detailed documentation of accounting processes and associated accounting flows.
Identify opportunities for process and internal control enhancements.
Provide additional ad hoc analysis as required.
Support procurement operations for the Calhoun facility.
Ideal Profile
Undergraduate degree in Finance/Accounting or a related field.
Minimum of 2–3 years of Cost Accounting experience.
Experience in conducting audits and financial analysis.
Preferably experienced in a manufacturing facility.
SAP experience is desirable.
Position requires strong analytical skills and problem-solving capabilities.
Proficiency with the full Microsoft Suite is required.
Effective communication skills across all levels of the organization.
A high level of ethical practice and safety-mindedness is essential.
