Qualifications:
• Build solid customer relationships to add the most value; frequently communicate with customers and internal staff via phone and email.
• Applying the "management by exception" principle, you should look for creative ways to automate, streamline, or eliminate employees in the credit department to improve procedures and cut costs.
• Following up on accounts that haven't been contacted in a while requires a routine examination of the various receivable aging data.
• Be sure to keep up with the filing of liens and releases of liens, and consult an attorney if you run into any issues.
• Take charge of the entire credit and collections department and run all policies and procedures. This division is in charge of new-client onboarding, credit checking, and debt recovery.
• Manage the Credit Team's Efforts to Collect Payments. Find out what happened, write up a report, and close the books. Get on top of mounting collection issues. Assisting with collections when needed and acting as a point of contact between the customer and sales staff.
• Check to see if your company's accounts receivable amounts are reasonable given the state of the company and the economy.
• Develop trend tracking, collecting activity, and risk monitoring reporting and analytics for upper management. Include the highest-risk accounts and any recommendations for lowering them in your report.
• Connect with other businesses and organizations in the field, such as law firms, debt collectors, credit reporting agencies, and trade groups, and keep those connections active.
• Consult management and the necessary staff when dealing with complicated deduction and/or collection situations that call for extreme measures.
Skills:
• It is crucial to have excellent customer service abilities, powerful interpersonal abilities, negotiation skills, and the capacity to manage efficiently at all organizational levels and with workers in distant locations.
• Reading, analyzing, and interpreting business publications, trade journals, current events, financial reports, and legal papers is required.
• strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the capacity to use good judgment and come to informed conclusions.
• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results- orientation.
• 3+ years in increasingly demanding financial and credit leadership roles, preferably in the manufacturing, construction, or petroleum industries
