Shift Timings : 6 am to 3 pm IST (Remote)
About the Role:
We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer – Ab Initio Specialist to join our growing data engineering team. The ideal candidate will have deep hands-on experience in data integration, strong problem-solving skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality software solutions. This role is ideal for someone who can work independently, mentor junior team members, and lead critical support activities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines using Ab Initio, shell scripting, and other ETL tools
• Apply solid data engineering principles and best practices across the software development lifecycle
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to team members
• Independently deliver high-quality, test-covered solutions
• Estimate development efforts and participate in sprint planning
• Lead Level 3+ support and handle production troubleshooting
• Work collaboratively across teams to integrate with MQs, REST APIs, and streaming platforms like Kafka
• Support deployments and maintain production systems within DevOps pipelines
Required Skills and Experience:
• 8–12 years of hands-on programming experience with Ab Initio and Unix/Linux shell scripting
• Strong knowledge of ETL principles , batch and continuous flows
• Experience with Oracle RDBMS and SQL
• Solid understanding of data integration tools and frameworks
• Exposure to or working experience with AWS Cloud services
• Integration knowledge of message queues (MQs) , REST APIs , and Kafka
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools
• Strong debugging, design, and problem-solving skills
• Proven ability to work without supervision and deliver scalable, tested solutions
• Experience providing Level 3 or higher production support
