Key Responsibilities:
Lead end-to-end data migration projects, ensuring seamless data transfer between systems.
Develop data mapping strategies to migrate from MSSQL to PostgreSQL, addressing differences in data types, constraints, and relationships.
Build ETL processes for efficient data migration while maintaining integrity, completeness, and accuracy.
Oversee infrastructure for optimal performance, reliability, and scalability.
Utilize AWS services and open-source technologies for efficient, cost-effective data processing.
Maintain thorough documentation of the migration process, including architecture, schemas, and transformation rules.
Qualifications:
4+ years of experience in database management and data migration, especially MSSQL and PostgreSQL.
Strong proficiency in SQL and one programming language (e.g., Python, Java).
Expertise in data modeling and schema translation between database systems.
Proven experience with data migration tools and methodologies.
Familiar with data orchestration tools (e.g., Apache Airflow) and complex workflows.
Experience in schema design, query optimization, and indexing strategies.
Proficiency with Git and agile methodologies.
Bonus Skills:
Experience with data migration tools (pg_dump, pgloader, Airbyte, AWS DMS, AWS Glue).
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for database changes (Liquibase).
