Job Description
NAWe are seeking an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) with a strong background in PostgreSQL and knowledge of UPI PSP (Unified Payments Interface, Payment Service Provider) database schema to join our team. The ideal candidate will have in-depth experience in database management, optimization, and security, with a focus on supporting high-availability, transaction-heavy applications.
Key Responsibilities:
• Database Management & Maintenance:
• Administer, maintain, and optimize PostgreSQL databases to ensure high performance, reliability, and availability.
• Perform database tuning and troubleshooting to resolve issues with query performance, data integrity, and access.
• Database Design & Development:
• Collaborate with developers and architects to design database structures that support application requirements.
• Develop and maintain schemas, indexes, tables, views, and functions.
• Performance Monitoring & Optimization:
• Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimization strategies.
• Regularly conduct database health checks, tuning, and maintenance tasks.
• Data Security & Compliance:
• Implement and manage database security, including user roles and permissions, to ensure data integrity and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Conduct regular security audits and backups to safeguard critical data.
• Database Migration & Version Control:
• Support database version upgrades, migrations, and the implementation of new features in PostgreSQL.
• Ensure database changes are documented, versioned, and tested to maintain stability.
• Backup & Disaster Recovery:
• Develop and execute backup and disaster recovery plans for critical data assets.
• Ensure regular backups, data replication, and failover strategies are in place.
• UPI PSP Schema Knowledge (Plus):
• Leverage knowledge of UPI PSP database schema and structure for financial or payment processing applications, optimizing database performance for transaction-heavy workloads.

Must Have Skills (Non -Negotiable Core Competencies): Postgre SQL Database Administration, Replication, Master Slave Set Up, Failover Mechanism, Backup and Restore, Archive Policies, BFSI Exposure
Requirements:
Experience: 7+ years of experience as a Database Administrator, primarily with PostgreSQL.
Educational Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in PostgreSQL database management, tuning, and optimization.
• Strong knowledge of SQL, PL/pgSQL, indexing, and query optimization.
• Experience in database security, access controls, and regulatory compliance.
• Familiarity with backup, disaster recovery, and high-availability strategies.
Nice-to-Have: Knowledge of UPI PSP (Unified Payments Interface, Payment Service Provider) database schema.
Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Good to Have Skills: Sharding, Schema Design
