Demand and Supply Planner

💰 $6,720 - $10,752 (Est.) 📍 Sydney 🕐 6 days ago

Job Description

Ever wonder how thousands of dinner boxes land on doorsteps across the country at just the right moment? It’s not magic—it’s a masterfully managed supply chain.

At Marley Spoon, we’re on a mission to bring better cooking back to the table. Every week we deliver thousands of meals across Australia - and none of it would be possible without passionate people behind the scenes.

We’re looking for a Demand and Supply Planner (Full-time permanent | Wetherill Park, NSW) who ensures our customers always have the fresh ingredients they need, exactly when they need them. You’ll be part of the heartbeat of our operations, balancing hungry customers with a complex network of suppliers to minimize waste and maximize joy.

The Opportunity
Inventory Management & Optimization: Maintain appropriate inventory levels to meet demand while reducing carrying costs. This involves tracking stock, managing safety stock, and preventing overstocking or stockouts.

Demand Forecasting & Analysis: Analyse sales data, market trends, and seasonal impacts to generate accurate demand forecasts. They incorporate inputs from marketing/sales teams (e.g., promotions) to refine these forecasts.

Supply Planning & Scheduling: Develop and execute production or procurement plans to ensure raw materials and finished goods are available. They coordinate with suppliers, co-packers, and production teams to manage purchase orders (POs) and production schedules.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a bridge between Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Finance to ensure alignment on business goals, product launches, and supply chain constraints.

Process Improvement: Use advanced analytical tools and software to improve planning systems and processes for increased accuracy and efficiency

What we’re looking for:
You’ll excel in this role if you’re someone who is analytical, resilient and detail-oriented. You enjoy solving complex puzzles and taking initiative in a fast-paced environment where teamwork is at the forefront.

You’ll bring:

Proven experience in Demand, Supply, or Production planning (ideally in FMCG or Fresh Food).

A degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related quantitative field.

Advanced Excel skills and a knack for turning data into a story.

Strong communication skills to influence stakeholders at all levels.

Experience with ERP systems or dedicated planning software.

Bonus points if you have:

Experience in a high-growth startup or e-commerce environment.

Proficiency with Data visualisation softwares or Google Data Looker

A personal passion for cooking and the food industry.
