As our Development Horticulturist you will:
Communicate project objectives, activities and outcomes, both verbally and written to growers, industry bodies and other stakeholders.
Prepare reports and extension materials for industry, departmental and funding body clients as detailed within a communication strategy.
Ensure collection, collation, and statistical analysis of field, survey and laboratory data.
Participate in and lead components of research activities in tropical fruit crops by applying relevant scientific methodology and technical practices at a high level.
Assist in the development of new project concepts and activities.
Maintain an active professional development program and keep up to date with relevant research advances in tropical horticulture production.
Adhere to the Department’s Code of Conduct, including the principles and practices of employment equity, ethical conduct and workplace health and safety.
