Software Development Manager
Location: Pune, India
Our client develops DevOps tools that improve software quality and security as well as team productivity for several of the world’s leading companies.
The team owns APIs written in multiple languages(like C++, Java, Python, PHP, Perl, C#, Ruby).
This team is also responsible for integrating capabilities within IDEs and applications in the form of plugins.
It is the best version control software for world-class development at scale.
It securely versions all digital content — even large files — in a single repository. And it scales for large teams, handles 1000s of daily transactions, and delivers files quickly to remote users (even if they’re using Git).
Responsibilities:
Lead a team covering full stack development, QA, automation and DevOps with over 10 team members
Contribute to the product hands-on by fixing bugs and coding features/stories
E2E responsibility for software product delivery and ability to manage production environments too
Drive the group to work efficiently and consistently following an Agile methodology (Sprint planning, daily standups, retrospective meetings, etc.)
Identify technical debt and challenges and drive the team to reduce them
Design solutions, evaluate architecture options, set technical direction and quality standards, guide implementation
Work closely with key business and product stakeholders on building the technical and product roadmap
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science/engineering or related field required.
Ideally 10 years commercial experience (post education)
Experience with C/C++, including build environments and compilers
Hands on experience with coding in other languages (besides C++) and openness to code in multiple coding languages.
Experience diagnosing and resolving bugs.
Excellent understanding of the principles of object-oriented design.
Experience as a technical lead, mentoring junior developers, conducting code reviews and helping them troubleshoot issues.
Experience developing for multiple platforms (e.g. Windows, Linux, Mac)
Proven ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical personnel and management.
Proven ability to adapt to varying coding styles and requirements.
The candidate needs to have good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge in C++ would be desirable.
Should be open to work on multiple languages and technologies.
Experience working with a geo-distributed team.
A collaborative, positive approach to working with others
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written)
