What will you do: As the Director of Dam Safety, you will:

Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Yukon Energy’s Dam Safety Management System (DSMS), ensuring safe design, construction, operation, and monitoring of all dam assets.
Provide strategic leadership and risk-based decision-making across the full asset lifecycle, supporting long-term asset management, capital planning, and public safety.
Act as the organization’s primary authority on dam safety, ensuring compliance with Canadian Dam Association guidelines and regulatory requirements while advising executive leadership and engaging with regulators and stakeholders.
What you need to succeed:

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or related discipline) and registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Canada, with the ability to obtain registration in Yukon.
10+ years of progressive engineering experience, including significant experience in dam engineering or dam safety—ideally within a hydroelectric or owner-operator environment.
Strong technical expertise across dam safety disciplines (e.g., structural, geotechnical, hydrology, risk assessment) and deep knowledge of CDA guidelines and dam safety frameworks.
Proven experience leading dam safety programs, regulatory engagement, inspections, and compliance activities.
Experience supporting dam-related capital projects and integrating risk-based decision-making into asset management and planning.
Demonstrated leadership experience, with the ability to guide teams, influence decisions, and collaborate across technical and executive stakeholders.
Strong communication skills, with experience preparing reports and engaging with senior leadership and regulators.
Valid Class 5 driver’s license and ability to travel to remote sites as required.
