Details: The Director, HR Systems and Compliance, supports the Directorate and the Senior Director, Recruitment by delivering operational recruitment services and workforce planning for ACT Public Schools and the Education Support Office.
The Recruitment team within People and Performance Branch provides education employment support to strengthen student outcomes through a skilled, high‑performing workforce. The team delivers advice and operational support across staff recruitment and deployment, position establishment and resource management, staff movements, conditions of service and staff entitlements. The role also oversees workforce profile management, supporting principals, schools and business areas to manage their workforce in alignment with approved staffing structures.
The Director, HR Systems and Compliance is one of three Directors within Recruitment that works collaboratively across the team. Key areas of focus include:
Providing high‑level advice and operational support on recruitment and deployment, establishment management, resource allocation, staff movement, and conditions of service and entitlements.
Leading centralised recruitment offers and onboarding for all school‑based vacancies and positions ensuring alignment with workforce strategy, service delivery priorities, legislative requirements, and best‑practice recruitment standards.
Managing regulatory processes, including Teacher Quality Institute professional registration and Working with Vulnerable People registration.
Leading the design and delivery of HR request management systems and recruitment databases to provide streamlined experiences for schools and applicants who engage with recruitment services.
Overseeing day‑to‑day operational recruitment activities, including the use and analysis of data to support the Directorate’s teacher attraction and retention strategy.
Note: This is a temporary position available immediately for a period of 12 months with possibility of permanency.A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months.

Opportunities for flexible working options could include hybrid working, being a combination of working from home, designated office based and FlexiSpace working locations across the ACT, part-time hours, job-sharing, flexible start, and finish times.
