The Halifax Port Authority is seeking a people-first, future-focused leader to join us as our Director, Human Resources. Reporting to our Vice President, Talent and Communications, this role is all about shaping a connected, high-performing, and resilient workplace—where people thrive, culture is strong, and strategy meets purpose.
What You'll Do:
Lead HR strategy and operations across the employee lifecycle
Champion a collaborative, values-driven workplace culture
Oversee union relations with ILA Local 1843 and PSAC Local 80826
Prepare for and lead collective bargaining and labour relations
Coach and advise leaders, and support their teams' growth
Elevate our recruitment, engagement, and people programs
What You Bring:
7–10 years in HR leadership, preferably with union experience
Strategic mind, strong EQ, and next-level communication skills
Passion for collaboration, innovation, and creating belonging
Proactive approach to continuous improvement and managing change effectively
